Brad Haynes / Biography

Graduated with a BA in Industrial Design and worked designing baby feeding equipment and accessories for Avent™, Mothercare and Boots. I was an expert in nipples, teats and breastpumps for approximately eighteen months.

Taught myself HTML and web design in 1995, and could see that by simply treating a website as a product, I could deal with both the design and technical aspects.

I joined my first design agency in Cambridge in 1998, had fun and built nice little sites for big companies.

After a few years and another web agency, I moved to London to work for Viant Corp. – a large multidisciplinary internet consulting company as a Creative Developer. Built bigger things, for bigger companies, met some very good people.

I joined Ocado as their Website/User interface designer in 2002 where I've camped out trying to make grocery shopping painless, fast and accessible. I was still there until June of 2008 as the Head of User Experience.

Bits I missed out: Stints as graphic designer, newspaper print production person, Mac and Windows desktop support.
